Hear the praise Sandie’s clients have to share about working with her:

My name is Jose, I am a 52-year-old man who was just released from a life sentence. I served 24 years of incarceration before I was found suitable for release by the parole board of California Department of rehabilitation. Through the past six years, I’ve worked diligently, changing my life and understanding the man I was and becoming the man I am today. Coming out of there to this free world was gonna be a cultural shock for me and I knew I would see different times, but I was pleasantly surprised when I found that the program I was going to had caring counselors who cared and were there to help in my difficult task of transition. My counselor, Sandy Henderson is an awesome counselor and is very encouraging and supportive when it comes to my well-being, and our one on ones have helped me tremendously in my continued struggle to overcome some of the character defects that I am still dealing with. I have gained so much insight in myself and I am so blessed to have her as my counselor. The work we do helps me maintain and advance my level of rehabilitation, keeping my Tall sharp at hand. I feel she is a part of my success and progress that I have accomplished in the four months I’ve been out.

Sincerely,

-Jose

Hello, my name is Chris. I am a resident and client at the Elijah House Foundation. I would like to say that since my arrival my counselor Sandy has helped me grow and see things in a different perspective. I was incarcerated for 11 years and in doing that substantial amount of time, mindset. With the help from Sandy, she has opened my eyes to learning new tools and techniques to adapt to this world outside of Concrete walls. I do appreciate her willingness to help me challenge my thinking and learn new things about myself. I look forward to continuing to grow and become an amazing member of society.

Sincerely,

-Chris

My name is Nathan and since I came to the Elijah House step down program, I’ve had a counselor by the name of Sandy. She has helped me learn coping skills, and what triggers are. Dealing with childhood and adult traumas. Learning to open-up more and to trust in a new way of life and meanings of purpose. She has given me a new home and I think her for this.

All right!

-Nathan
